“We had a leak in hose to washer. The person making appointment explained there's assessment fee of $219. I countered that's high and since issue is evident and I basically made assessment. She said yes if issue is evident, assessment would be waived.
I showed repairman source of leak. He said to replace hoses and Y connector would be $615!
I thought that was high and asked for breakdown. He said it's 'against company policy to do so and that's flat fee'. Cost included time to drive out, wait for parts, etc…
BTW he said assessment is $129 and yes it would be waived if issue is obvious. I asked if assessment was waived and he said yes!
So then $615 to repair hoses sounds ridiculous to me.
I asked how long would it take to fix; he said 20 minutes.
I could not get a straight answer from repairman.
My choice was to pay $129 for him making visit and wasting me time or paying $615.
I was tempted to do latter but seems a waste to pay $129 for nothing.
I chose to pay this time but trust me, I will look for another company for future work!”
