“Just want to report that Wayne and Aanyicia finished up a few minutes ago. They did a fantastic job quickly locating the problem.
There was an air blockage in the master bath radiant heat circuit that likely occurred last week when the water flow sensor was being replaced. It should have been bled.
At the same time, Wayne noticed that a heat coil circuit that was removed when Zach replaced the SpacePak AC air handler in the garage also needed to be bled and closed. We abandoned the auxiliary heat coil circuit when you installed the new AC unit a couple months ago.

Anthony was not... only the most thorough with me but he also spent the most time and went into the most detail with me every step of the way. I bought two new heat pump systems for my home and out of 4 estimates he and his team were the only ones that I felt actually cared and did not just want to sell me a system and move on. Zach was super kind and informed me of everything he was going to do before doing it so I was comfortable. He treated my home like his own and he even brought a fancy vacuum and cleaned up better than I had it before. Nancy in scheduling was also fantastic to deal with. We had a great experience with Basnett. Our 24 year old basement zone Trane XE90 finally gave up the ghost. When I called Basnett, Madeleine in the scheduling department was very helpful and... friendly. Senior Technician Jay Agnew came over within an hour or so, and diagnosed the multiple issues with our gas furnace. When we mutually determined that it was not the best or safest course of action to repair the furnace, Jay quickly put us in contact with Anthony Kent who came over and gave us all the options for replacing our system. There was no "hard sell" or pressure to spend more than we needed to. Just an expert and honest evaluation of our options and what incentives are available through the state for the replacement equipment. We were so impressed that we have decided to go with them installing new heat pumps and gas furnaces for both zones in the house. Basnett is a family owned business that actually cares about their neighbors, which is a rarity when so many HVAC companies in MA are getting consolidated by investment companies. Highly recommended for their service, pricing, responsiveness and the quality of their employees.read more

As a long-time homeowner, I have had my share of problems with contractors over the years. Not so much from a quality perspective as a customer service perspective. Most of these guys know how to do... one thing, which is their discipline. The best ones get an assistant, sometimes their wife. The worst ones don't return phone calls, show up when they feel like it and generally act like you owe them something. I'm the customer, not them.So when my plumber decided to go to the dark side, telling me he "didn't work outside in the winter" and passed on central A/C quote, I fired him.Basnett had installed our water heater so we figured we'd give them a try. Glad we did. From sales to installation to customer service to final inspection, service and work were outstanding. They also filed for our rebate (central A/C and heat pump) got us 0% (for 18 months) financing. Called this morning to repair a leaky toilet, and am happy I chose to have a new toilet installed by the nicest technician ever, this is a company totally focused on customer needs, and gets the job... done quickly. The technician took a photo of the crack in my toilet caused by a local unlicensed tech.Yesterday, I had a dual-duct heating/AC unit installed in my bedroom. I initially spoke to Anthony about the details of the unit and cost; he said there would be veterans benefits, and no interest financing. Nancy from his office called after my discussion with Anthony to arrange the financing details and unit installation. The process was seamless from discussion to installation.Yesterday, Roger Morse and a young and eager crew of technicians began work. Everyone knew what they were doing; those who came in my home put boot covers on (much appreciated); the unit was up and running within 3 hours. Roger reviewed the system operational details with me before leaving.Today Anthony came by to deliver a gift basket full of goodies, much appreciated, and to make sure that I am satisfied with the equipment installed and happy with how it operates.Roger Morse also came by to install the air filter for the bedroom dual duct system. It turned out to be quite a job to connect all the wiring, but the end result is I have an energy efficient home.All electric, no fossil fuel footprint, and I thank Basnett Plumbing for helping me with that goal!I highly recommend Basnett Plumbing for any and all plumbing, heating, electrical, and AC work in your home. Basnett Plumbing is our go-to contractor for all things plumbing related. Appointments are easy to schedule; they did a great job installing a water heater: on time, fast, and great clean up. Then, 5... years later, the water heater manufacturer reported that the water heater was defective. Basnett helped us arrange the no-cost replacement (we just had to pay Basnett market rates for labor for installation), and they replaced it within a week! Anthony from Basnett came to our house to do an estimate to add air conditioning. He took his time to go over all our options and what would make sense for us. we agreed to split the job... (upstairs/downstairs). we got an air handler/heat pump for upstairs and additional mini splits downstairs. There was a lot to do and he did it.This service was hardly free, but I think it was yet another example of "you get what you pay for".My purpose in having the heating system serviced every year in the fall is prevention -- I want to minimize the likelihood of being on the phone at 2am some morning next February with the outside temperature at 10 degrees and the heating system dead. Fantastic, courteous service! I cannot say enough great stuff about Basnett and what they did for us! Our boiler flooded inside and out and was not operational. A local Plumbing/Heating company... told us it was not worth fixing and needed to be replaced - the estimate was over $8000. We called Basnett for a 2nd opinion - they sent Taylor and K - both were very professional and listened to us explain the entire situation before troubleshooting. They checked every part, meticulously cleaned it inside and out, and explained what it would take to get it up and running. I received exact prices on each part and was pleasantly surprised to learn all the parts were on their truck. Three hours later, my boiler was back up and running for less than $1300. This will be our go-to company from now on.read more

UpdateAnother year using Basnett plumbing to service my Viessman and the service was 5 star again as expected. Also, I can't say enough good things about Phinias, he's always friendly, courteous and... honest.Another company changed the nozzle size on my Viessman boiler and did not perform smoke and combustion analysis which resulted in a very sooty combustion chamber and exhaust vent. After explaining this to my Basnett technician Phinias, he explained my options and what he was going to do. He performed both before and after analysis, showed me the results and gained my full confidence and trust. Phinias was very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Basnett finished installing 2 sets of mini splits and 8 inside units for a whole house Heat pump system 3 days ago. So now, any place in my house is environmentally controlled to a comfortable... temperature and humidity, no matter if it is 80 or 56 outside. It is really wonderful!During the proposal stage, they walked through my Deck house a couple times with 2nd opinion people. They also designed with Mitsubishi equipment which I considered to have the best performance, and most dependable, and reliable. The tech who wrote this proposal was honest, polite, and not pushy. He also helped me filling out the units specific info to apply for a Mass Save interest free loan from a credit union.They sent two crews to install the system in 4 days. The last day when the electrician powered up the system, there were 6 techs walking around to test and finalize the system. They were all very polite, knowledgeable, and felt trustworthy, and worked together very well.I’m very happy with my experience this time and I highly recommend Basnett Plumbing and Heating HVAC company for your mini split or heat pump design and installation.Electrician Mike -On Friday, 9/8/2023, a violent afternoon rain storm broke off two trunks of two maple trees, and the maple trunks pulled down the power line and fiber optics cable to my house. Mike and Anthony came around 9:40 pm and re-attached the mask to my house after the town has removed the maple trunks that were laying/sitting on the power line.Mike was courteous, knowledgeable, and very dependable. Mike’s fixing allowed the town to re-attach my power line back to the power pole the next day afternoon.Mike is now my go-to electrician, my electrician!read more

First job we hired Basnett for was a range ino, helpful, and resolved unexpected problems quickly. He also wore shoe covers to prevent tracking dirt into the home.Second job was a normally routine... leaky shower lever faucet repair that homeowner was unable to complete because valve was encrusted with 27 years worth of minerals and rust. Since the shower also did not have a cutoff, the downstream consequences of an unsuccessful repair were the entire water supply of the home being off line for a lengthy periof of time, and larger-scale plumbing and wall repairs to the bathroom infrastructure. Technicians were able to remove and replace the lever valve without more extensive repairs. (There was a two week wait for a non-emergency appointment.) The technicians were courteous, informative and cleaned up quickly and thoroughly.Third job was a complete replacement of a boiler and hot water system, adding,, along the way, an extra zone and heater in the garage. John Condo and crew were cordial, professional, and quick. They cleaned up after themselves, and sat down to explain the operation of the new systems.afterwards. Well done."Completely satisfied." He was thorough, professional, informative and helpful. Send him next time.Wayne visited us several months later to go over filtration systems and do a minor plumbing trouble shoot. Many thanks to Basnett's electrician, Michael, for his great problem-solving when we had a major electrical dilemma. Our underground electrical conduit between the outdoor meter and the basement... electrical panel had a leak, so whenever the ground was saturated ( a LOT in 2021) our main electrical line was sitting in water!! Not good. Other businesses suggested hiring a company to dig up the line, but Michael figured we could run a new line from the outdoor meter through our garage along the cable line, etc. Now we have a dry, easy to access and safe hook-up; the old line is disabled; and we know that we can count on Basnett for high quality work and the ability to think outside of the box! (Or, in this case, outside of the underground conduit!) We are super happy.read more

2/26/21 - I had recently had Basnett in to replace my water softener so I was aware of the service I could expect. When Paul and his assistant Mike showed up to replace our boiler and burner I... thought it would be hard for them to, one up if you will, the last Basnett crew.First, this job was way more than I had envisioned. Paul and Mike were straight out the entire time it seemed. While one of them assembled, the other was prepping the next two or three steps. When an obstacle occurred they were brought the supplies they needed by their company delivery person. As with the last crew, when there were options on how the install could go, there was no hesitation for them to ask how I would like it to go. I have to say, I was impressed with this crew and there work!Professional – tidy - efficient. The new boiler and burner system looks great and runs great- good work. I highly recommend this company.2/2/21 - I had my old water softener removed and a new softener and by-pass installed and re-plumbed. Wayne and Lisa were very professional and understanding. Wayne’s expertise was key in his training of Lisa. If they were not sure of how I wanted it, they made sure to ask. I could not be more pleased with the new set-up. I will post some pics soon. The team at Basnett was just amazing. Only downside was the timeliness to start the project which was about 6 weeks. However, this was true for all the companies we got... a quote from.We recently bought a new house that had an old HVAC system. We got 4 quotes including one from Basnett. We wanted to convert to gas as we had oil.Bottom line is that they beat every quote between $6-7k with products of the same quality in the other quotes. Only one that was close was if we kept oil.Not only were they great with the install they educated us about and walked us through the process of getting a Mass Save Heat Loan (0% for 84 months).Once the project was complete they processed our Mass Saves rebates that were just under $11k. Currently still waiting for these checks but were told it would be about 4-5 weeks. System was installed in late October so just in time for Christmas.They also coordinated with Eastern Propane for our new tank installation which was no cost to us (caveat: we have to use Eastern for our propane but in comparing their gas cost to other companies they seemed very similair).For reference our house is approximately 4300 sq. ft. We had two propane furnaces, two air purifiers, a 3T heat pump and 4T heat pump installed. Also, had all new smart thermometers installed.Heat pumps were 20 SEER. Im waiting to see what our new electrical bill is but my rough calculations indicate we will save more than we are paying on the 0% loan.Also, 2 years of service included. And don't forget the nice gift basket they left with us after the install. All in all so very happy we got multiple quotes as Basnett was the last one to come out...almost pulled the trigger earlier. Very pleased we did not.read more

I called Basnett Plumbing urgently looking for a plumber to replace my kitchen sink and leaking faucet as the plumber I had scheduled showed up 3 days late and refused to either... wear a mask and gloves or wash his hands before starting the job and left saying he would not do the job. So rude. I called several local plumbers and Basnett was the first to answer the phone with a live human. They were kind, professional and said they happened to have a cancellation and could come by that afternoon. As soon as I hung up I got a text message with a time window specified and at the start of the time window, moments before the plumber arrived I got another text saying Wayne would be arriving soon with his pic and description of his credentials and a few fun facts - wow - what a pleasant surprise that was. He gave us 4 options to consider and... rated them by what he felt would work best for our needs.Ryan and his team showed up the day after Christmas as scheduled and went over the schedule that he felt would take @3 days to wrap up. After day one, we had a new HWH. After day two, we had the new boiler in place but needed some buttoning up and they came back the following week.All in all, Ryan kept us informed of progress, set backs and plan of attack and we were very happy with the overall experience. Wanting to replace an ancient oil heating in a 1950s house with something a bit more contemporary we requested quotes from a couple of plumbing companies. Most showed up, took a look, and ran away... screaming. Basnett's team accepted the challenge, and took time and pride in designing a solution that would work within the confines of the location (heat pump + gas combo, installed in the same furnace room, re-using the existing ducts).Once contracted, the Basnett team showed up in full force (I counted six people at times) to finish this complex conversion. All plumbing (including routing various lines and pipes) to the basement and the attic was finished within a week.When their subcontracted electrician refused to connect the setup to the (admittedly inadequate) main panel Basnett kept their cool and suggested solutions to make the panel code compliant. I used my local electrician to do that, and Basnett adjusted the price accordingly without any problem.Main takeaway for me is that Basnett take pride in finding solutions, and delivering quality work in difficult circumstances. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommended.read more

I had Basnett Plumbing remove a fiberglass tub/shower unit and replace it with just a tub. They did a fine job with that and quickly left. I felt like they were in a real hurry to leave, they didn’t... even accompany me to inspect their work. Upon first inspection, everything looked fine. I had my tile guy scheduled for the following day. He came in and started to tile the walls. Halfway through he called me in to point out that the shower head, spout, and overflow were not centered on the tub but were off by about 4 inches. Of course, I understand that the old fiberglass unit was thicker which caused the issue. However, if the Basnett guys had taken the time to explain the situation to me instead of just running off, I could have made an informed decision to have them fix it or just leave it. Now, my walls are tiled and to fix the problem will be a major expense. I’m really disappointed with their customer service.I have to say that I stand corrected. I am thoroughly impressed with the customer service that I have received from Basnett. Upon reading my initial 1-star review, they immediately sent someone to my house to inspect the work. We agreed that I would pay what I would have if the work was done at the time of install and they would pay to have the tile work repaired. I thought this was a reasonable solution. They sent someone out the following day (which happened to be a Saturday) and the work was completed within hours. My tile guy come out the next week to repair the tile. The tile work ended up costing more than the work that Basnett did. I paid the tile guy directly and worried that I might never be reimbursed for his work. However, once again the people at Basnett shocked me. I emailed over a copy of my check and the invoice from the tile guy and within days I received a check for the difference from Basnett. Once again, I stand corrected...Basnett Plumbing could give lessons on customer service!!!read more

I called Basnett on Wednesday and they were here THRUSDAY MORNING. ( even though they had never heard of me before ) Originally I thought this was going to be a routine service call… And I asked for... it because I had heard so many good things about Basnett that I wanted to be on their customer list..Turns out… Ironically… That the day before I called my air-conditioning started acting really funky…Enter Phineas! On time to the moment at 8 AM… Phineas was great… He was lovely to work with… He diagnosed my problem explained to me exactly what it would entail… Adding coolant.. and giving me the estimate of how much that would cost depending on how many pounds I would need ...And then… Luckily… As he was finishing up… The fan stopped running ... which I then remembered it had done periodically .. Phineas immediately turned his attention to that, while I went to work in my home office… turns out it was a good thing that he found the problem because the unit was getting quite hot .. when the job was done… He came to my office as I had asked… And told me exactly what he did ....I had a great experience with this company… I highly recommend them to anyone… They are prompt… Lovely… I had two very nice conversations with the two women who answer the phones… And I had a great experience with Phineas .. Basnett Plumbing came out this morning to repair our heating and hot water systems. Called them late last night, told them our heating system was not working and a technician was assigned first... thing this morning. Phinias, the tech assigned, was courteous and extremely knowledgeable about our system and was able to tell me basically what was wrong in the 1st 5 minutes. He spent a good amount of time not only fixing the system, but doing a much needed maintenance as well. Really satisfied with his work and scheduled them to do additional maintenance on our mini split in the spring.Its spring now and have had them back and maintenance was done on our mini split air conditioner. Phinias also completed this job with the same thoughorness as our heating system. Took the system apart and cleaned the rotor/fan which had mold and was causing a loud noise when running. Really pleased with the work done.Also had Taylor out to fix the kitchen faucet that had started to spray everywhere. They special ordered a hose for us. Taylor was great. After spending more than $2,000 on repairs from 2 separate local well known companies for an energy... efficient combination boiler/hot water heater that is only 4 years old, I am happy to report that the technicians at Basnett solved the problem. They have the expertise and technical knowledge to diagnose and solve problems on these newer computer systems which require a higher level of certification. Do not waste your time or money by calling your installer if they are not "ACE" certified which stands for Advanced Comfort Expert. You will end up paying to replace things that don't need to be replaced. Also, if you plan on installing a new system, make sure they have a positive track record and the certifications to install the system. A happy customer!read more

In my experience, Basnett Plumbing has a fair price, keeps me informed on upcoming appointments, updates arrival times if there is any delay, and most importantly, does the job right. I know the... price up front so there are no surprises. They are always very professional, introduce themselves and put on shoe booties. All my appliances from the washing machine to the domestic hot water and heat are handled by Basnett. I have never had to call them back on any service. I appreciated being able to coordinate a possible P-trap pipe replacement with having my roof down. In the end Wayne came out and took a look and advised that my pipe although older was still in good... shape and that only the flange that the roofers replaced had been rusted through.Nice to not be talked into something I didn't need and have a plumber with just a days notice.read more

I received a number of quotes for a gas furnace boiler replacement for and Basnett not only had the best price, but since I had worked with them before I knew they were reliable. The furnace was... working in July when it was inspected, and we scheduled the job for late October. However, when we turned on the heat for the first time when it got cold in late September, it did not start. Basnett came out within hours to look, and determined it would likely be an expensive repair. Instead they were able to move up the replacement date so we were able to avoid the additional expense, and were only without heat for a few days. The replacement was done on a Saturday - the crew showed up right on time, did a super job, and finished early. I would highly recommend Basnett to anyone!read more

We are very happy and p0leased with the experience and with the... product.Over the past few weeks, we have met with several Basnett employees and want to express our respect and appreciation for their professionalism and support.Ryan was outstanding. Aside from being professional and hard-working, he was also very patient. I had many questions that he answered clearly and respectfully. He took the time to explain, and sometimes show me, what he was doing. I was impressed with his knowledge and experience. He was always professional, courteous and competent.Ryan and his crew were meticulous about cleaning up after their work was done every day. Unlike some workmen I have encountered in the past, they were very quiet – no loud music, yelling, or cursing. I felt very comfortable with them working in and around my home.Wade came on a service call. He quickly found the cause of and repaired a leaking mini-split unit. He also spent time examining our boiler because we had a report from Mass Save about excessive emissions. After he looked over the unit and read the report from Mass Save, he recommended a thorough cleaning as the next step. He prepared the paper work to set up an appointment for the cleaning. He was professional, competent, and courteous.Phineas came to clean the boiler. Once again, I was met with a courteous, competent professional. Recently had an issue with a leaking bathroom pipe dripping through the downstairs kitchen ceiling. Called Basnett on a Saturday of a long weekend at 7am and they had someone here by 9am to fix it.... Plumber did an outstanding Jon and had the leak fixed within a few hours. You’d think that installing a new LP stove is a job that “Any”plumber can do and just not that complicated. They probably teach stove installation on day one of plumbing school but my story will... prove that theory very wrong .I chose “any” plumber and when he left my new stove took 27 minutes to preheat to 350 and my burner front left was over cooking everything really fast and burning the bottom of my pots.I called Basnett plumbing and one of their certified plumbers came to my house.First thing he did was go online pull the manufacturers specifications on the liquid propane stove and one by one went through every burner (including those in the oven) to make sure the orifices installed matched the specifications. It turns out that the prior plumber had probably read the natural gas instructions and not the liquid propane instructions therefore installing the stove completely improperly by incorrectly installing two of the orifices which caused the over and under heating of the burners in question.Even though the job was then done, he decided to run other tests on the amount of liquid propane being given off to make sure that no bad fumes would enter my house, he also pulled the stove out to make sure the connections were properly installed , the stove was level and made sure that my anti-tip device was installed properly.When you hire people to do the right job you just expect that they are doing it however, in this case, one plumber VS another.....The Basnett plumber did about 4 extra safety tests that should’ve been done during the original install and I should’ve hired Basnett from the get go. I will never use another plumber from now on .read more
